Commercial Egg Recall in Europe; Found to Contain Poison.

Earlier this week, the German government found out that chickens from thousands of egg farms have been eating feed contaminated with dioxins, which is a by-product of burning waste and industrial processes. They are some of the most toxic pollutants that are known of and have been linked to cancer in humans. They believe that chickens were eating feed contaminated with the poison for months. It seems that industrial fats were accidentally used while manufacturing the feed instead of the vegetable fats, which are normally used. The problem has now spread to other products as well. Eggs were recalled from store shelves a few days ago. They are now recalling chicken meat as well products that contain eggs from Germany. They are also slaughtering all the poisoned chickens.

This is just another story that demonstrates the importance of controlling your own food supply. If you know where your food comes from, you know that it is safe. You can do this by raising your own chickens, and buying feed that is milled locally. You can start a garden and grow some of your produce. You can also support your local farmers by joining a CSA, buying produce at a farmers market, and looking for local products at the grocery store.
